This 3-year course includes interships in the 2nd and 3rd years.
From the 2nd year, professional artists give classes and prepare the students to the realities of the working world.
The training consists in mastering the different creation stages of a comic strip.
The classes are given by graduate teachers and working professionals : comic strip authors, colorists, illustrators, scriptwriters, storyboarders.
The comic strip is used in many areas : illustration, the press, edition, children edition, publicity, motion design, animation movies, etc.
During their second year, the students are faced to a unique exercise : the realization of a fanzine called “La Bulle à Pivaut”. Each student has to create five black and white boards on a specific theme, helped by a comic strip author guest who changes every year. The purpose is a finished and printed product.
Thus, the students experiment through that fanzine the professional constraints.
At the end of the third year, the students present their works based on a personal screen play.
They present its content before a Jury of examiners external to the school (editors, authors, scriptwriters, etc.). That’s also an important moment for the recruitment of our students.
